Every Instrument/Raga featured in SwarShala comes packaged as a .ssb file (swarshala base). Normally the auto-load feature (see preferences) loads most of the commonly used bases(instruments/ragas) at the time you launch SwarShala. Still, if you find some instrument missing in Practice or Compose sections, you can load that particular instrument by opening its base in Compose Section. Even if you want to open some specific instument in Practice Section, you'll have to first open its base in Compose section. For this:
a) Switch to Compose Pane,
b) Choose 'open base' option from 'File' menu,
c) Choose the required base, say, pakhawaj, or Durga.ssb
d) Switch to practice pane,
e) Select pakhawaj / durga from instrument / raga combo box inside rhythmic / melodic dialog box.
SwarShala Standard version users should note that only tabla, harmonium and tanpura are available in standard version of SwarShala.
