Classification fields

Each pattern and cycle can be classified through the following fields: Gharana, Composer, Style, Reporter and Cycle. Gharana stands for the tradition from which the pattern originates. Composer is the author of the pattern. Style applies to the category of pattern like theka, paran, mukhra for rhythmic bases, bandish, alankar, lehra for melodic ones Reporter must be filled with the name of the person having entered the pattern in the base. Cycle should be set to the main rhythmic cycle for which the pattern has been composed, if any.

To set these fields, look in the combo-box if a similar value exists and select it. If not, type the new value straight into the field; your new value will be added to the combo box. All unused values are cleared when saving the base.

In the future,the find option will allow searches according to these fields. Also note that for classification purposes, sub-folders are of great help.
