SwarShala
offers a common interface for both rhythmic (TaalWizard) and melodic
(RaagWizard) bases. You can thus play a sitar bandish along with
a tabla rhythmic cycle, as well as a tanpura drone.
The software can be downloaded and tried freely, but it limits the
trial period to 5 minutes for each execution. After that, all unlicensed
bases get disabled. If you want to remove this limitation, you will
have to subscribe to one or more of the following licenses:
.
Further to unlocking the respective bases, the Composer license
lets you create Wave or MIDI files out of the patterns of SwarShala
bases. It is therefore a must-have for all authors of computer music,
who can import these files in their favourite sequencer to merge
them with other musical tracks.
Wave files can be created with a special handling of trailing sound.
Typically, a trailing sound is the sound that continues after the
last beat of the pattern. This sound can be either truncated (first
loop), wrapped (middle loops) or extracted (after last loop). All
modulations available with SwarShala (pan, emphasis, pitch) are
handled both globally and at stroke-level. More...
Midi files are created as format zero (one track) or one (multi-tracks).
They also reproduce all modulations allowed in SwarShala. They can
be used with any sampler or SoundFonts compatible sound card. More...
