Set Main Pitch, Volume and Pan

A tabla performance will never be fully elevating, whoever the artist, if the drums are not meticulously tuned. Tuning your drums to the instrument you are accompanying is one of the first things you are taught in tabla, and as you go deeper into it you slowly realize how crucial it is for a full blending of the music.

TaalWizard allows you to tune separately the right- and the left-hand drum, as you would do in a concert, by simply dragging the slider bar on the right for a higher pitch and on the left for a lower pitch.Fine tuning can be achieved through the spin buttons on the right of each bar.

As you release the sliding tab or the spin button you will hear the sound of the selected stroke at the selected pitch. If you want to tune using another stroke, you can select it in the "Stroke to play" combo box.

Another setting of importance is the volume. If for example you want to amplify the overall rendering of left-stroke bols ("louder on the left, please!") just slide the left-hand bar to the right. Make sure you always leave a small margin so that strokes that are emphasised can still be heard as louder.

The last setting which you can use is the pan, through which you can create interesting stereo effects, just by dragging left and right strokes apart on a different loud-speaker.

All these settings are stored in the base when quitting and automatically recovered when the base is opened again.
