MIDI for Indian drums anywhere?

Have you ever tried to play Indian instruments on your keyboard or through your sequencer? Bad news: these are not included in the default MIDI instruments set.

That's no longer a problem, though. TaalTrax provides instrument definitions (patches) in various formats that you can simply load and start playing, either on your own, or through a set of 500+ groovy MIDI files.

Of course, depending on your equipment, you may need to buy a hardware or software sampler. To find out, just send us an email with the details of your configuration.

TaalTrax 2.0 has the same contents as the Pro version, except the separate sampler-formatted CD. Instead, it contains patches in standard formats such as DLS and Sound Fonts.

TaalTrax 2.0 is also Swar Systems' current product for Indian music students running Mac systems. It has been formatted as a hybrid Mac/PC CD and contains both a freeware sequencer and a shareware sampler that will enable such users to enjoy tabla, pakhawaj and/or tanpura accompaniment in minutes. Detailed instructions are of course provided.

By purchasing TaalTrax, you are granted free updates. All you need to do is register your CD, and you will be given free access to the Swar Systems TaalTrax archive, where new loops and styles will be posted monthly.

SwarShala is an Indian music shareware that enables you to create custom rhythmic patterns and then export them as Wave or MIDI files. Download the demo version at www.swarsystems.com.
